Recruitment and Working with Express Taxis
If you’re thinking about joining our school transport or private hire team, there are a few reasons to get behind the wheel with us:
Friendly team – We are a family-oriented company where your input is appreciated. Everyone on our team looks out for one another, and we try to help wherever we can
- Flexible hours – We understand that you may want to work to suit around school runs and family life, or just work whenever you like
- Pay rates – Competitive hourly rates, with the option to be paid weekly or monthly to suit your needs
- Work near you – We offer lots of local work around your area, with none of that long travelling or costly fuel expenses
- Structure – No unsociable hours or shift work; we have a high percentage of fixed work throughout the week from our school contracts and corporate accounts
- Safety – We prioritise the safety of our drivers; they have all our support and communication is key
So, whether you’re a parent or carer looking for something part-time to fit around your family, or you want to build up your driving and earn a solid wage, we’ve got the routes and timings to make it work for you.
Recruitment – Driver Roles
We look for customer-oriented, punctual, presentable, and reliable drivers. Our drivers and passenger escorts meet a number of criteria but are mainly:
- Good communicators with an excellent professional attitude
- Hold or are willing to get a DBS check
- Have a valid UK driving licence to drive a vehicle/taxi (having a D1 or PCV license is an advantage for those interested in minibus work)
Passenger Assistants
Passenger assistants are a really valuable part of the team, helping children and vulnerable adults with comfort and reassurance on their journeys. You could apply to work as a driver and a passenger escort or just in a passenger escort role.
If you love children and really care about supporting them on their journeys, then you may want to be a passenger assistant. Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience – we can provide training, including disability awareness training and safeguarding training.
Many of our passenger assistants work part time in school time slots, which makes a great part time role for parents or for those looking for something fulfilling to fit around their other responsibilities.
Helping in your own community
Express Taxis offers you the opportunity to make a real difference in your community every day. Children, elderly passengers, and disabled people make up a large part of our clientele, and we pride ourselves on ensuring every customer is cared for with the utmost respect and kindness.
Our team is friendly and accommodating, and because we are based in the heart of your local community, our drivers and passenger assistants often have regular customers who they get to know quite well.
From giving children a big smile on their journey to school in the morning to supporting elderly or disabled passengers with lifts in and out of their vehicles, our role is not always something to be taken for granted, and it’s one of the many reasons why it’s a job worth doing.
